In the summer of 2003, my significant other, Jennifer French, and I vacationed along the Oregon Coast and discovered Florence. We fell in love with the community, the people, and the beauty of the area. We returned to Denver, sold our home, and, two months later, moved to what would become our forever home.

Shortly after unpacking and getting settled with our two dogs, Buster & Jute, I quickly joined Toastmasters. Then I enrolled in a Florence Leadership Development program designed to prepare citizens to serve in elected and appointed public offices. It was because of this program that I set my intention of serving on City Council. But first, I needed to find a job. With my strong background in administration, management, and personal coaching, I was hired in early 2004 as the HR Manager for the new casino being developed on Hwy 126. Sixteen years later, I retired from the workforce but continued to fulfill my desire for community service.  

Elected to the Florence City Council in 2020 and re-elected in 2024, I have served with the following agencies and committees:

· Environmental Management Advisory Committee (EMAC)

· City of Florence Budget Committee

· Transportation Systems Plan Ad-Hoc Committee

· Housing Implementation Committee

· Regional Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program (RHRP) of

 St. Vincent de Paul
